Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information. Last updated: September 10, 2026.

DRYmedic Restoration of Charleston ("we," "us") is the locally owned and operated DRYmedic® franchise serving the Charleston, SC metro. This policy describes what information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

  • Information you give us. When you submit an estimate request or contact form, we collect what you enter — typically your name, phone number, email address, property address or zip code, and a description of the damage. The form also records which page you submitted it from (city and service), so we can route your request.
  • Phone calls. When you call us, we collect your phone number and the information you share so we can dispatch and follow up. Calls to our tracked phone numbers are handled by our call-tracking provider, CallCap, so we can see which advertising works. Those calls may be recorded and analyzed by CallCap for quality and lead handling — for example, to make sure every caller who needs a callback gets one.
  • Chat assistant. If you use the chat on this website, we collect the messages you type, any photos you send, and any name, phone number or email address you share in it (see AI Chat Assistant below).
  • Automatic website data. Like most websites, we use analytics tools that collect standard technical data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you found us (for example, a Google search or ad).

AI Chat Assistant

  • It's an AI. The chat on this website is an automated assistant, not a person. The messages you type and any photos you send are processed by an AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the replies you see.
  • Chat transcripts. We store a transcript of each chat conversation — including any name, phone number or email address you type into it — with our website hosting provider, Netlify, so our team can follow up and see what you already told us. Photos are used to generate the reply; the stored transcript notes that a photo was sent but does not keep the image.
  • Lead notification emails. When you leave your contact details in the chat, an email with those details and a summary of your conversation (and, if you sent one with that message, a photo) is sent to our team through an email delivery provider, Resend.
  • On your device. The chat keeps your conversation in your browser for up to 24 hours so it doesn't disappear when you move between pages. Clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Optional. You never have to use the chat — you can always call (843) 790-5769 or use the estimate form instead.

How We Use It

  • To respond to your request, provide estimates, schedule and perform restoration services, and communicate about your job.
  • To document work for your insurance claim, when you ask us to work with your carrier.
  • To measure and improve our website and advertising (see Cookies & Advertising below).
  • To comply with legal, insurance, and licensing obligations.

Cookies & Advertising

We also set one short-lived cookie named dm_cc that stores only a two-letter country code. It expires after 30 minutes and is used solely to decide whether analytics tags load on the page. It does not identify you, and it is not shared with anyone.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertising leads to calls and estimate requests. These tools set cookies and may collect device identifiers. We may also use remarketing features, which can show you our ads on other sites after you visit ours; you can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com, and control cookies through your browser settings. This site works fine with cookies disabled.

What We Share — and Don't

  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
  • Service providers. We use a small number of providers who handle data on our behalf, under their own security commitments: our website hosting provider, Netlify (estimate forms and chat transcripts); Anthropic (generating chat replies); Resend (delivering chat lead notification emails to our team); CallCap (call tracking and call recording); Google (analytics and advertising measurement); and the messaging provider that delivers our text messages.
  • Your insurance carrier. If we're handling your claim documentation, we share job-related information (photos, moisture readings, scope, invoices) with your carrier and adjuster — that's part of the service.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety.

Text Messages (SMS)

  • When we text you. We send text messages in three situations: if you call us and we miss you, we text the number you called from so you can reach us without dialing again; if you give us your mobile number on a form and check the box consenting to texts, we may text you about your request; and if we complete a job for you, we may send up to two messages asking whether you'd leave a review.
  • How often. Rarely, and only in response to something — a call you placed, a request you sent, or a job we finished. There is no recurring campaign and no newsletter.
  • Stopping them. Reply STOP to any message and we stop texting that number. Reply HELP for contact information. Message and data rates may apply.
  • We do not sell or share your mobile number. Mobile information and consent to receive text messages are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and only in order to deliver it.
  • Texting us is optional. Consenting to text messages is never a condition of getting help, requesting an estimate, or hiring us.

Retention & Security

We keep job records as long as needed for warranty, insurance, licensing, and tax purposes. Website lead records are retained so we can serve returning customers. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission is ever 100% secure.

Your Choices

  • Ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (where not required for legal or insurance records) — call (843) 790-5769 or write to the address below.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time; transactional communications about an active job will continue.
  • Control cookies in your browser and ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

Children

This site is for property owners and managers and is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here.
